I was outside having a cigar and beer(s) and I heard my neighbor's AC unit kick on. Dam climate controlled people! How will these people ever survive when the terrorists take control of your AC!
down here AC is on 24/7 lol was 114 today and when i just passed the bank it was 92 when i wake up in the AM it will be about 88 so we gotta keep it on.... down here has that kinda heat that u walk out your door and it hits u in the face so hard u cant catch your breath because its so humid out

Mine is on now, cause I have a 2-month old and we were out all day with the house closed. When I walked in tonite, it was 81 on the 1st floor, and 83 on the 2nd floor. 1st floor AC is off now, the 2 bedroom units are on, and I'm hanging in the basement with the fan and a Yuengling. :)
i actually had to wear a sweater when i went out just now  like i've said before, i'm a tropical people :)
I was just going to say Absolutely, but I decided to get some fresh air into my room. I'll probably have the a/c on Fan later. This is the first summer in my life (20yrs) that I have my own A/C unit in my window. Before then the Central never made it to my room upstairs.
Mine is still on for some reason. Its actualy cold, which means I will be sleeping like a friggin rock.
It got down to 65 last night so there was no reason for anyone to have AC turned on. Our house was 85 upstairs when I got home at 7:30 and some window fans got the temp back down to 75 within 3 hours. It was 70 upstairs this morning. Later this week it's supposed to go down into the upper 50's a couple of nights. I just find it amazing that people are so clueless to weather conditions and just leave things turned on and waste energy for no reason other than their own laziness. Then they complain about gas prices! :???: I walked my dog around the block late last night and there wasn't a single house with windows open other than ours! This really is scary that people are so climate controlled. Is this our future???

i am not a big a/c user. thee is preprogrammed central air in my house, but i woudl rather be outside no matter what the weather is. i worked outside all week with the heat index between 110 and 120, didn't mind a bit. :)

it was jsut funny at work listening to all the 22 year olds i work with dying because they had to sweat a little. these are the same pin heads that want to make fun of me for being old and fat while they brag about being in great shape and hitting the gym all the time. l
in a few months i will geto t hear them cry about how cold it is while i work outside in shorts. lol |

the temp up here never got anywhere near 65 even at night. I have an outdoor thermostat and it is currently 81 out. Not really comfortable for sleeping.
I hate being hot and sticky and I keep my a/c on all day long even when I'm not home. I love coming in to a nice 65 degree home. Taking a nice cool shower and then relaxing in front of the boob tube. i don't have central air I have window units so I even put on one in the bedroom and one downstairs, I'm so generous I even give the animals their own a/c and let it run all day as well. Just so I don't have to sweat I go out to my car 5 min before i have to leave and turn it on with the a/c on full blast as well. I'm planning on getting a remote start so I don't even have to go outside. Ahhh, the convenience and comfort of a nice cool home nothing like it in the world. |

That's the point. If you waste energy when it's comfortable out, you might not have that energy when you really need it! Extreme heat won't kill you like extreme cold will. If most people had the option of being allowed to use heat during the winter or AC during the summer, which would they pick? Heat of course. I'm not saying to never turn the AC on, but most people turn it on in May and let it run until Nov. Last night it got down to 60 degrees agarin with no humidity. Why would anyone leave their AC on and their house closed up? A complete waste of energy. It's not a matter of cost, it's a matter of limited natural resources. This generation should know much better than my generation about conserving energy but apparently not. But don't worry, Al Gore is watching you and he knows exactly how many kilowatts you have wasted!
