the mustang does indeed suck, but why isnt GM throwing a decent pony car at us? what makes you think the camaro is gonna be so much lighter? i'm just playing devils advocate here. the new camaro will have to meet stricter safety regulations and will need more creature comforts then the 4th gen to sell. my 4th gen was over 3400 for comparisons sake.

black paint and stripes seems to be the winner too since my neighbor is having a replica made for himself

even the SRT8 300C's are only running 13's. LS1 cars run faster than they do. I'll wait until they give specs on the production camaro before I make my judgements. I still hate the new mustangs though, I'd take a 99-04 over the newer ones anyday!

WayFast84 08-08-2006 12:12 AM

i just like how mustangs sound off a down shift.

everyday at the bus stop a social studys teacher would down shift in front of me just to taunt me..

f-bodies and mustangs are pony cars, not muscle cars

hemi powered tanks = muscle cars = big car with a big motor

That's a big negative. muscle car = small/mid size car with big motor. The 64 GTO was the original muscle car. 4400 lb cars will never be muscle cars no matter what you put under the hood.

The challenger always was a pony car, but now they have just turned it into a pig....

:werd: From what I hear the new challenger is gonna be a beast weight wise. The GTO was the first true muscle car, the Chevelle didnt get as much recognition that year because the cubic inches were kept to 327 while the poncho 389 was the preffered engine. But what most dont know about is the few 64 SS Chevelles that came from the factory with a special package that involved a 370 horse Vette engine backed by a 4speed. The numbers were extremly low, but they weighted 2900 lbs in hardtop form and 3250 in convertible form compared to the GTO's hefty 3800 lbs. Ughh to be back in the mid 60s and see this stuff unfold.
