fuel pump whine

it seems as tho my fuel pump has developed a very loud whine. mostly when at 1300rpm's or below it sounds like a dying owl, and above that its ok. the sound comes and goes as it pleases too. i havent noticed any performance problems and i hooked up the scanner and the volts to the pump are good to. what the hell is wrong with it? could it have sucked something up and its stuck on the strainer/filter thing. there was nothin in it when i had the tank out last year...

Might just be the beginning of the end....

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?
