this thread sucks

only because i don't have video or even a picture. but we sprayed the car for the first time last nite a 150 shot. holy **** i thought it was going to fly off into the sky. my son was driving this time and i watched as the car stood all the way up on the back bumper:mrgreen: when it came down it tweaked something in the front right tire area. we have'nt checked out the damages yet but i think it's time to invest in a set of wheelie bars. front tires were over 6 feet off the ground. luckily no damage to the oil pan or headers. i thought for a second that it might flip over backwards but my boy did a great job pedaling it back down to the ground. everyone in the stands were cheering. it had to go at least 100 ft before it came down. crossed the 60 ft mark on the back tires and just kept rising. next time i'll have wheelie bars on for sure. since i have no pics i'll say ttiwwp

Glad he was ok.

However the sadistic tendencies in me really enjoys seeing parts explode out from beneath cars the stand up and crash down.

Glad it wasn't worse than it could have been. 6 ft wheel stand = WOW......good job :)

Do you have any sort of travel limiter in the front suspension?

Also, what was the ET and mph?

NJSPEEDER 08-17-2006 03:19 PM

wheelie bars are for the weak!!!
take droop out of the front suspension. a simple set of travel limiters will solve everything, jsut take about 25% of the drop out and it will help a ton.

thats one option we are thinking about justin.
we were only doing 1/8th mile passes then shutting it down. we have no licenses yet. our plan was to go all out on pass3 then they could kick us out we would be leaving then anyway. you know you only get 3 passes @ e-town:lol:
1st pass 11.30@86
2nd pass 10.80@87
3rd pass-who knows damn it

weak=ouch :laugh:
limiters would help a ton your right there tim. probally what we'll do.

SPRYN4LOWETS 08-17-2006 03:57 PM

No wheelie bars for us!!!! Monkeys play with bars. HAHA it was all the talk at work today, im gonna have to do it one more time so we can get a pic of it. In the mean time take a pic of the tattooed bumper and post it up. Front end limiters and a lower launch rpm and we'll keep her going good. Thats why wednesdays are Test & Tune.

yea i knew it was your son, however it would be better if it was your daughter, my age, and attractive

BigAls87Z28 08-17-2006 09:09 PM

Yeah, so the Commie could make off-color comments about her weight and how he uses her.....

Anyway, major lameage on the no pics and or vid, but ouch... Must have been a fun ride for your son!! Its not enough hp till you can flip it, and it lands back on its tires.

um..i did say attractive, so there should be no issues with weight  and as far as the other part goes that all depends on her.

Yah what he said, what do you have for front struts, and try the limiters so that when you EVENLY jack up the front end, you have 3" of travel, are you coming to Island on Sunday, i'll show you mine on my car, if not i'll take pictures of them and post them here. JR1.

SPRYN4LOWETS 08-17-2006 10:40 PM

Have 90/10 lakewoods up front, pa racing chmo k frame and lower a arms. We wont be going i bent either the outter tie rod or spindle when it landed. I was going to order the competion eng cable limiters they seem to have the most adjustability. If you could post up some pics for ideas id appreciate it. I planned on puttin it on the bumper so i was prepared for it, let off about 10% just enough to turn off the n20 from the micro switch then got back into it halfway down. The header tubes have rubber on all four but only one has about an 1/4" wide flat spot on it. 1.4x 60 on the back tires. 1.34 60 on the pass before. 6.2 @ 108 in the 1/8 with letting off before the 1/8 (car bounced when it came down while i was shifting 2nd and caused me to shift it into neutral) dont know what the second pass et on the 1/8 was but trapped 112-113.

jrsfast84 08-18-2006 10:07 AM

Well, start looking at your motor mounts on the block they get bent very easy, if you have stock steering then your tie rods are most likey bent, check your strut towers under the hood, they will bend up off of the car, theres only three bolts holding them on, i'm going to take some pictures today and i'll post them soon. JR1.

Keep your limiters even with your strut.

jrsfast84 08-18-2006 10:24 AM

Let me know how you make out and if you need any help. JR1.
