stage 8 header bolts

Anyone ever use a set made for the LSx block on a standard sbc, as in thirdgens? I test fitted a couple in different threads on the head and they feel sloppy at first, then they tighten up and thread all the way in by hand without moving side to side or anything sloppy. What do you think?

does it feel sloppy all the way up until it bottoms out? cause that would be bad

only the first maybe 3 or so threads. The only thing I'm worreid about is when they actually need to hold something in tight the pressure will pull the bolts outward and being that they are a smaller diamter (i think) will mess up the threads inside and strip them out

I'd just buy the correct header bolts and not have to worry about it.

I used the stage 8 sbc bolts on my monte and they felt great. They work good too and the allen key center was a plus when i could get a regular wrench in. For the s/c I went to the breslins though, they look cleaner.

I've used Stage 8's before and didn't like them. Over time the locks broke and fell off most of them believe it or not. I now use bolts from a place called Breslin....they have a locking screw right in the middle of them. Haven't had one loosen up on me yet. Check them out.

Thats what I wanted to use on the 72, but I got them too long...

I've had mine on for 3 years now, car sits outside, replaced the header gaskets once, changed motors once so i've had them on and off a few times, never a problem.

If they thread sloppy I would not use them, especially if you are using aluminum heads. Also, if the bolts you are using are stainless, don't forget to lightly coat the threads with copper anti-seize.
