Trusted Trans shop

Looking to service the trans and add a cooler. Was wondering if anyone knows a trusted shop in Central Jersey.

ehh its a local shop here. its way north but i guess ill drop a name anyways, just in case. Andover Transmissions. i know a few people that went there (non-fbody) and they were happy with everything. i also left my car there for a clutch install, it was done about 5 hours later. So i was happy with my experience. Dude comes off a little cocky but he turned out ok.

it would be kinda odd to install a tranny cooler on a manual.......

Where are they and do they do 'regular cars'? The trans in my Intrigue does this weird thing once in the while where it doesn't downshift when I come to a rolling stop. I give it gas and it feels like it is still in 4th, then wham, it downshifts.

j0n 08-30-2006 08:53 PM

i believe they're in new brunswick

and tim, that trans is gunna look real pretty in your garage amongst all the other crap you've got, even moreso after you dump a ton of money into it

Dynotech is in Manville NJ. They do great work but can be pricey. I'm probably going to get the transaxle in my GTP done there.

If you call them, ask for Eric, he knows his stuff.

DYNOTECH FTW!!!

http://www.dynotechperformance.com/

Eric and Jim are great to deal with. I had a 79 TA that was spitting out trannys until Eric did a TH400 for me. And they spearheaded the masterwork of installing a 200R4 in my 73 AMX.

ASFAIK they will work on just about anything...first time I went to their shop they were doing a tranny for an Escort, so I'd say it's safe to say they will do whatever it takes to pay the bills. But keep in mind there are usually no less that 8-10 Grand Nationals there awaiting their attention.

If anybody goes there, just drop my name. I'm one of their favorite cartoon characters. lol

I would trust UBGs place, his car seems to drive real nice with their transmission. I know of a few places NOT to go to, if you want to know their names, I will discuss that through PM.
