Getting my lg4 heads cleaned up and perform better?

SO a while back I was reading something about porting your own heads. I think dont quote me on this It said some thing about getting the heads hot tanked first. What is that? Where do I bring my heads to get them cleaned up? IE all of the sludge outa them?

Now I was reading the camaro performance hand book today in studdy hall, and it gave me the idea to get the heads cleaned up, have valves in stalled port the heads and rocker arms. and things I can do to make it cleaner and give it a tiny bit more omphh and since I have a cam install kit maybe a sugested cam to give it a little more power/sound since I realized what I want.

I do want a motor built but I dont think it would be good at the time being..

also what valves should I have installed?

are 305 tpi heads better? should I get them?

if you're gonna port them yourself, stay out of the ports! you'll probably make the shape worse. Hot tanking can be done at any local engine buidling shop. I dont know if TPI heads are better or not, but I'd imagine they are slightly. why not just save up and buy some World 305 heads or vortecs?

because People told me vortecs dont work on 305's..

Im not looking for power, right now, a little power can help me out in what I plan on doing but it isnt needed, I just want everything to be nice and clean, and my engine to last.

Leave them alone. Save the $$ for a later 350 upgrade.
