Paint question!

Why would my car only be real glossy on the flat area's upward like the hood and roof? would that be something maaco would serve under the waranty? can I have a different painter spray more clear to get it glossyer? I want it to look even!

First question: How much did you pay for your paint job? As I said in another post, MAACOs can do a decent job but you will have to pay more for it.

I think he paid about $1,800, but that included their extra charge for a color change.

Maaco ... I made that mistake once

Not sure if Maaco buffs the clear out or not but if so they probably only did the flat spots as edges tend to have less paint on them when done on the cheap and it's easy to burn a hole through the paint there with a buffing wheel.

my dad had some luck with maaco back in the day when him and his friend fixed cars on the side, they did all the prep work and aside from setting up an appointment, they'd talk to the guy actually painting the car and slip him some extra money. Maybe you should have thrown a tip

Honestly it's probably because you had Maaco paint it. If it's that bad take it back to them and make them warranty it.

WayFast84 09-19-2006 02:21 PM

I will take it back! when it runs...

bad64chevelle 09-20-2006 07:28 PM

dont wait on it too long though, they will find some reason to not warranty the work.
