First 5 driving minutes since surgery and my car gets hit

The doc gave me the ok to drive today after 4 weeks of bumming rides from ppl due to arm surgery. So i decide to pay my coworkers a visit. I parked the car behind a township vehicle since the parking lot is now full of garbage trucks, and parking space is cluttered. I exit the vehicle, ******** with someone for a minute and hear a loud thud. One of my coworkers got into that pickup truck and backed right into the front of my car, saying he didnt see it when I know he saw me park there. After thorough investigation at home, I'm gonna need a new front bumper, pass. headlight + headlight bracket, pass. turn lense, and since the hood got slightly curled backwards, im gonna need a new one too. Things aren't going the way Ive planned in the month of september [/rant]

boo

there really isn't a body line that pronounced on the bumper of the car though, whereas the bodyline on the hood is very pronounced. it all comes down to personal preference...either one is much prettier than a stock hood and 99% of all other aftermarket hoods...plus the fitment is top notch and there's a buttload of weight savings.

im sorry to hear that noah... i have two words of advice for you though

1. take it to the guy who repainted your car, he did an amazing job.
2. stay home for the rest of the month in a bubble and i'll wake you up when september ends  [/green day]

maroman88 09-26-2006 10:19 PM

damage pics!?

enRo 09-26-2006 10:49 PM

ill put some up tomorrow. its really not as bad as it sounds, just a good crack in the bumper, a nice 8"x10" scrape below the headlight, and the headlight cracked and popped out, bending the headlight mount as well. The hood doesnt look damaged, but it was slightly curled back and shot way outta allignment. Today i ordered new halo lights since it was an aftermarket one that broke, which i doubt will be replaced by the shop. i also resealed my clearcorners that were not on the car at the time of the accident and installed them one handed. I plan on calling VFN for the sunoco hood tomorrow or thursday so its ready to be installed when all the prepaid work is done. Cuz what might happen is since my job aka twp of roxbury, and it was a twp vehicle that hit me, and its under the twp's insurance, is they will pay for the damages. I go to the police station to fill out paperwork tomorrow which will be transfered to the D.O.T insurance etc etc, then ill have to go for 3 estimates. I also have to order new hockey stripes cuz the place i bought them from wont sell the bumper stickies individually, since the bumper has to be replaced. o well. i am having the worse luck as of now lol
