trans damage pics
Since I didn't want to continue posting in the other thread, heres the pics of my broke trans.
Story behind it is.... I bought the trans with 2500 miles on it, and new converter. Put it in the truck and was shifting real hard, in about a week I was on it and it just stopped, no bang or any noise, just threw a code and stoped moving. I limped it home only having up to 3rd gear. After talking to some people we came to the conclusion that I stripped the splines on the c2/c3 hub shaft. It is a rare thing to happen, but apparently it does. After tearing it apart and we saw the much more severe damage I ended up getting a 100% new trans. I was told that what I did was the first time it has ever been done, the 3 biggest guys in the country known for building them have never seen or heard of it before. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../p1sungear.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/kjp800/p1sun.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/kjp800/p1hub.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../p1carrier.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/kjp800/c2hub.jpg |

THE NEXT TIME IT BRAKES AND IT WILL, YOU MIGHT WANT TO INVEST IN A PROCESS CALLED ( CRYOGENICS ) THE HOOT BEHIND IT, AND IT DOES WORK IS TO RE ALIGN THE MILO'S IN THE METAL AND THE COLD DOES IT -- WE USE IT ON MANY THINGS, AND HAVE BEEN REAL SURPRISED TO FIND A WEAK LINK AND FIX IT -- JZ

We need the full story after seeing that. Why did you need that trans in the first place and what mods are done to the truck? You didn't let Jiffy Lube change your trans fluid, did you?

good work with that trans.
|
Reason I had to get the trans was because the stock one couldn't hold the power. All I have done to the truck is whats listed in my sig., muffler/cat delete, twin pumps, and EFI Live tuning.
We are still not 100% sure what caused it, but we believe it was a tie-up with the electronics which had me in both 2nd and 3rd gear at the same time. There has been a few times this has happened, but the only problem they had was the splines twisting on the shaft, nothing like what I did. Thanks Melissa, I would love to be the king!!! |

HEY alloy rods will make it a little faster -- but thats the cost of the little faster -- titanium ones are real pricy and will not change the combo if you have to use but -- parabolic Beam Billet olivers / H beam Dyres < -- BUCKS == little cheaper than Titanium -- and most just use the I Beam Ultimate Duty they rate out at 1000 HP ????? G wizz a set -- jz |
