Cams
Probably going to be collecting money soon and I dont need anything so i'm thinking about putting it towards a cam because i recently got a new exhaust from the headers back...
I was looking at these on summit but which would give me the best performance while keeping the car street friendly http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...s=P%5FRank%7C0 |
What car? Motor? Supporting mods? Auto or manual?
|
3400...check fullthrottlev6, not very many 3.4 guys on here
|
its all on that page but
95 camaro 3.4 V6 Auto Edit:: posted... see what happens |
if you had a 3.8 i could help ya out but I'm not too knowledgeable on the 60 degree motors
|
thanks Kasey
i was just assuming you guys could look at the specs and give some insight... guess it's not that easy |
i would suggest checking out this part number in the summit catalog: CCA-K16-233-4
it si a complete kit to install a comp cams high energy grind in your engine. should have good street manners as it is only meant to make power to 5000rpm and is not what i woudl consider a big cam at all, although it is bigger than most of the other selections listed. one thing to make sure you look into is some tuning. whatever cam you choose will require the computer to be retuned to operate properly and take advantage of any new found power. other things to look into if funds are available woudl be getting some mild head and intake porting done, looking into free flowing/larger exhuast, and finding a less restrictive air intake system. :) has anyone ever put an LS1/later 3800 air filter system onto a 3.4 car? |
i'd be interested in looking into the air filter mod
since foff (bill) isn't tuning right now is there anyone else i'd be able to go to w/ a decent price? |
Bill wouldn't be able to tune your 3.4 anyway. You'll have to ask on FTv6 to be sure, but I think PCM4Less does 3.4 tuning.
Getting some work done on those heads and your intake manifold will really help out that motor, they are notoriously restrictive on the 3.4 cars. The other thing you might want to think about is a Gen III top end swap (using the heads and upper and lower intake from a 94+ FWD 3100 or 3400 v6). These heads and intake flow waaaaay better than yours, but they do require some custom work to make them fit. I know at least one 3.4 guy on FTv6 has done the swap. - Justin |
something like this would be perfect for me...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-...QQcmdZViewItem i could take the 3.8, the rear, and save the headliner/ttops for a spring project :) |
