fuel regulator
How is every one tonight...i have had better days..any way is it hard too change a fuel regulator, for a 306 tpi..i mean liek what all is invalved on it..do i have too take the tpi apart too do this or what.... |
You are gunna have to take apart the upper plenum. You are also gunna need tamper-proof torx bits, go to any sears and they have them. I would also suggest you some how discharge the pressure in the fuel system by pushing down on the shreader(sp?) valve that is mounted on the fuel rail, right near the FPR. Make sure you measure the fuel pressure with the vaccum line off.

You won't have to disassemble the entire TPI, just the upper plenum needs removed. You might want to remove the rubber intake bellows, throttle/TV/cruise cables, and throttlebody too so you can port out the plenum behind the throttlebody.

get urself a haynes manual or watever brand, every question you have asked on the boards that ive seen is explained in it.... they usually have detailed pictures too. i love mine :)

Just remove the upper plenum and get the tamper proof bits Al mentioned. To relieve the pressure in the fuel system remove the gas cap and either hook a pressure gauge up to the fuel rail or depress the schrader valve until the pressure is all gone.
And instead of asking every minor question try searching Thirdgen.org for your answers....you'll probably have them faster. Sometimes it's better to do your own research and sit back and listen than to keep asking questions. |
