For 2008 !!!!
I heard that for 08' anyone in the 9 second zone will have to have a Motor Diaper in any type of drag car or dragster. JR.
|
ill be able to confirm or deny this by tomorrow night probably. im at the nhra track operator meetings as we speak, so ill get back to you. personally i think its probably a good idea. they're not talking sfi approved, just a diaper in general.
|
Thank You, but i heard it is SFI Approved. JR.

i stand corrected... but again ill know for sure tomorrow. division 7 has a tendency to be different than division 1 rules. i've also heard that some diapers that are not currently sfi approved can be sent to the manufacturer to be stamped. thats what ill end up doing with mine.

ok, just got back from division 1 tech meetings. everything in the quote above that bonzo posted from division 7 EXCEPT for the ET breaks for certain classes is correct throughout division 1 as well. Engine diapers will be required on all cars running 9.99 and quicker in 2008, meeting a newly created sfi spec 7.2.. this spec does not have the same ballistic properties as spec 7.1, and thus is more geared towards the sportsman racer. diapers with sfi spec 7.2 are also much cheaper than those with spec 7.1.. keep in mind this is not for this coming season, but something to look into for next season.
any other questions, feel free to ask, i have a handful of 2007 rulebooks sitting in front of me right now. |
Well, i'm screwed, i'll never get a diaper on my engine, my headers are right against the block now and there's no room for one, well, one way to solve it, sell motor to build a 10.0 street car and go racing. Thanks Diva, for the info on that. JR

you have a full year to figure it out. im sure youll come up with something. i dont quite understand how it wouldn't be able to go on your car? since they go on top of the header under the bolt, i don't know why they would get in the way of anything?
