I believe the 4 channel has a relucter ring built into the axle, and the 3 channel has a ring that comes off, may be wrong. Someone correct me if I am

yea i figure it out the number of channels refers to the # of abs sensors on the car, the rear i have has one on each backing plate so that makes it a 4 channel rear, that answers that question

alamantia 01-18-2007 07:38 AM

4 channel had reluctor rings pressed on to the axles where two sensors are afixed to the backing plates and run off the reluctor rings.

3 channel has one ring on the posi unit and a hole drilled in the top of the pumpkin where one sensor runs off the reluctor ring on the posi

For quick refference any car with TCS (traction Control System) that little button on your dash board for tracton control... thats automaticly a 4 channel

No TCS = 3 channel
