ATTN: Nerds!!
Just got a laptop free from work but it had windows 200 on it...i installed a copy of windows which is not "genuine"...anyone know a way of making it "genuine"?

the only way is to get a key from someone that hasnt shared their key with anyone

when you install windows updates, go to the bottom and check the box that says "checks for genuine copy of windows" or something along those lines. dont install it. untill then you have to reformat.

Or you can do what I did... call up tech support, say that you changed out the motherboard and hardware in your laptop, and you need the key reactivated. If they ask, just say that your "computer technician" has a valid copy of XP. :lol:
