Windows Vista=the suxor

OMG I'm having sooooo many issues with this new friggin OS...im gonna end up going back to winxp in the next few days more then likely.

BonzoHansen 02-03-2007 06:27 PM

That figures. I hate being the first to try newer technology because of the bugs like that. Is this a production release of vista or are you a beta user?

maroman88 02-03-2007 06:34 PM

when i bought my new computer in novemeber i got a rebate for the upgrade and it expires in march, i think ill wait till them to try it lol

enRo 02-03-2007 06:36 PM

Windows Vista is ok, but if you are a gamer, prepare to have many many problems trying to run games on there.. Vista is only good for personal use.

Rich189 02-03-2007 06:47 PM

yep im waiting till they work most of the bugs out to upgrade

Bandit 02-03-2007 06:47 PM

My machines can handle Vista, but I would need to spend 1k to upgrade all my business software. So XP for me for awhile.

foff667 02-03-2007 07:26 PM

Here are my main issues with it

a. & most important its not cooperating with my tuning software
b. its not cooperating with my flash demo software check out a demo I made of the issues from a. http://www.thetuningdoctor.com/HPTun...graphissue.swf lol it looks like I was in a snowstorm when I made it...looked even worse trying to do a 3d graph video.
c. too many goddamn permissions...it asks me if I want to do something after everything & I can't open up files if its in the program folder...im not sure if theres an easy way around it, but I've try altering my permissions for the entire c: drive & still am having issues so i've pretty much given up.
d. It came with 1/10th the programs that my last computer came with and I didnt really take notice at the time...but basically things like microsoft money, microsoft works, etc didnt come with it...thankfully I have microsoft word/excel & I had money on disk from my last computer so could just carry it over, but its been a complete hassle at this point & im just fed up. This computer is probably 8x more technologically advanced then my old computer with a HD 8x larger, DVD writer, etc & yet my old computer could do demos and they actually worked  just makes me sick to my stomach I paid good money for it & its got so many issues right off the bat, none of them with an easy fix from what I can see.

That link u supplied... lmao wtf ... not only do u need to downgrade back to XP, u need to set ur mouse speed a little higher lmao ... by the time u go to click something halfway across the screen, Vista 2 will be releasing

There is a lot of bugs... the main advantage with Vista is its support with DirectX 10 and 64-bit ... i dunno what to tell ya man.. demand ur money back lol

foff667 02-03-2007 09:22 PM

the mouse speed im not worried about thats the flash program itself, it was just a quick demo of the issues i was having so i didnt alter it, but yeah as you can see it was ****ed up.

enRo 02-03-2007 09:30 PM

Did u install the proper drivers for your video card? It may not be compatible with Vista and/or the drivers arent compatible. Updating would be your best bet. That would be my guess.

Brando56894 02-03-2007 09:45 PM

from what i read its not what it was supposed to be. ill prolly try it in like a few months when most of the bugs are worked out

That shouldn't be the problem, as he bought the system pre-assembled and loaded with Vista from Best Buy. Never hurts to check though.

I used the beta version of Vista for a little while, but didn't care much for it, so I'm sticking with XP for a while more.

foff667 02-04-2007 10:54 AM

yeah as Justin stated its a BRAND NEW COMPUTER WITH VISTA PRELOADED

bought it on Tuesday when it officially hit the market.

Thankfully I figured out the issue with my tuning software. Still having issues with my flash stuff...only for video though, taking screenshots works fine.

BonzoHansen 02-04-2007 10:55 AM

If Office XP (2003) will work with Vista, I have a copy for you.

JerzLT1 02-04-2007 11:20 AM

yeah it will, 90% of microsoft programs will stil work with vista. dont try running old antivirus tho lol
