Big Props to Ted! (Berger Panel) FINISHED!
Check our the Berger Panel Ted (Teds89Iroc) is in the process of completing for me! So far its amazing, and I can't wait to get it on my car!!!!
They call them Berger panels because they were installed on many Berger GMMG 4th gens as a throw-back to 1969' Yenko Camaro. Its a black tail panel between the trunk lid & bumper. Many people have all sorts of set-ups, mostly they just spray paint them flat black and put chrome decals where it says "CAMARO" but i went ahead and tried something else. Heres the pics: Before: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...QTP/before.jpg Test fitting: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...estfitting.jpg Primed: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...TP/primed2.jpg Base coat: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...QTP/Primed.jpg And example of what it should look like on someone else's car. (Mine won't have the Camaro thing in the corner) http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...2/8c5603d0.jpg Enjoy! |

|
haha what are the chances...
I just bought a panel last week. I started painting it yesterday. I was actually by your house yesterday alex. I went to gavins on route 46. Bought a flexible primer, a gloss black, and a clear coat. Had a gift certificate to sears from christmas so I went and bought a nice orbit sander. I sanded it down with some i think 150 grit and primered it. Now I'm waiting for it to dry and today I'm going to sand it with some 500 grit just to smooth it out again. If it looks all good I'm going to put my first coat of black on today. I'll talk some pictures today when I get a chance and post them up. Are you doing a satin black or a gloss black? |
 looks awsome man
|
that's because ted is amazing :D

they are called berger panels because they match the original cars taht were put together by berger in the late 60's are early 70's. the black panels on the backs of yenko cars were painted gloss black at the factory by GM to represent the the big blocks found in the COPO cars.

Nice work Ted....should look really good on Alex's car :)

Easy Job...
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ictures008.jpg With-Out tail-light covers... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...res009copy.jpg With tail-light covers... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ictures010.jpg Photo-shop of what the tinted tails will look like... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...intedtails.jpg The tail-light covers are definitely not staying. I'll pull them off once I sell them. I don't really like the stock reds so I'm going to hurry up my tinted tail-light project, but over all I love the look! Yes I know I need to paint the spoiler. |
please tell me you cleaned the inside before putting it on :-P
|
Looks good with the tinted lights. Ted what did you use to fill the CAMARO lettering just out of curiousity? Like a Claw Glass filler?
|
Looks niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice Alex! Again, props to Ted!
|
you removed paint from one part of the car, and now you need paint for another part? ironic huh?
either way it looks good. i vote for keeping the red tails |
