This type of stuff has been going on for years. Bogus auctions for other people's cars, trim tags, and VINs have been all over. The problem is that anybody can set up an auction, and Ebay can't drop the auction until it is reported.

my friend found someone using the VIN of his old VW gti on a different car on ebay last week. it was either a really odd typo or a scam. who knows...

someone hacked onto my account and listed a camaro and a mustang, wierd part was i had a camaro and a mustang at the time lol
