Turdgen

i think I might buy this 89 camaro from a friend of mine...its got a 400 smallblock in it...I accualy know the original owner and he worked that engine to the teeth...I was going to buy it but for some reason went with the 3.4, go figure. but now I might get it for a sick track car...the best time in was a 12.3 then there was more done to it and it never made it back to atco. Any body got and input or ussfull info on third gens

Find out if its a 4 or 2 bolt main block. 2 bolts are better.

Get cam specs from the owner, find out what rear, gear, t/c and trans first. Find out the rpo's. Are you going to tow it to the track? or register/drive it?

heres some input:: other people that don't have 3rd gens can make fun of them and call them thurd gens but if your going to own one man get some respect for the third gen and give it it's do. it's not "turd gen" we don't need one of our own giving us bad names:lol:
p.s.on a side note if it aint fast it is a turd gen:rofl:
j/k

I know this car. It's my friend steve's car. its ok, the paint on it is nice, liek a royal blue. and I dunno if it ran a 12.3, the guy who built it blows more smoke out of his ass then there is truth, hes the guy that bought my 2nd gen. The guys a little schemey too. anywho the info i was given on it was its a 400 sb in it, with a th400, but theres something wrong with it, theres a knock in the engine, dunno if its a bad rocker, bad lifter, or bad motor, like i said i wouldnt trust that gus work. Id buy it, but i gotta save up for court ....RIGHT HUGH! anywho its nice ,but find something you can work wiht a little more, i dont trust him. As for steve, hes a good kid, and he shouldnt of bought it.

bubba428 03-17-2007 12:30 PM

anywat the f'n point is...i'm trying to find good aftermarket suspention, engine or drivetrain parts and being i'm not very familliar with thirdgens i figuered i'd ask being so many of you have them

WayFast84 03-17-2007 12:39 PM

There are tons of good aftermarket suspension parts for thirdgens, such as spohn, UMI and tons of others. Focus on your 4thgen before you go and ask about parts for a car you dont have.
