What are your feelings

Just a thread, hear what people have to say. What are your feelings about NJFBOA? What brings you here and what do you like about it? How do you define "club"?

JerzLT1 03-26-2007 12:33 AM

i like how people dont rip people off on parts and cars and stuff... oh wait....

Jersey_TA 03-26-2007 12:40 AM

this place is my home, and just like anywhere else, you cant please everyone. people bitch and moan about the rules set forth, but theyre really not that difficult to follow. they are meant to make this a new member friendly site, where people feel welcome to join and not intimidated, we are a very close knit group and that can be hard to crack as a newbie. throw immaturity, bashing, name calling and whatever else that has gone on in the mix and thats not very inviting to new members. the goal is to let the club grow so we can get some big name sponsors to pay for our events instead of the admins, who, btw, are not gods and are not infallible, so people should stop calling them out on every little mistake thats made.

other than the little bit of whining that goes on here, which, from dealing with racers constantly i tend to see the side of the administration rather than the complainers, this place is great and i hope it continues to grow as it has in the past few years. i've met a lot of great people through here, and always have a lot of fun at our events.

Brando56894 03-26-2007 12:42 AM

what brought me here? f-bodys

BigAls87Z28 03-26-2007 12:49 AM

I define a club as a long, tear-dropped shape wooden object designed to be used as a wepon to harm or kill animals or people.

unstable bob gable 03-26-2007 12:59 AM

I define "club" as a sammich with 3 layers and some bacon!

Rich189 03-26-2007 05:06 AM

f bodys brought me here but some of the people are what keeps me around met a lot of good friends through here...and even though theres been a lot of bitching complaining drama ect lately i stick around cuz of the good peoples

DaSkinnyGuy 03-26-2007 06:01 AM

I like how its a place close to home that has a group of people with mainly the same interrest's and drive the same car platform.

Rafterman 03-26-2007 06:20 AM

I came to learn about trans ams and camaros. even though we have the occasional tough guy conversation, generally every thread is pretty good. it has me to the point were i have to log in atleast once a day.

GP99GT 03-26-2007 06:53 AM

Tsar 03-26-2007 07:12 AM

it was better before, now its crap so i come here less often.

qwikz28 03-26-2007 07:50 AM

what brought me here was Bill. what made me love being here were the group of guys. what now makes it hard to stay is the immaturity and hate that people have. but i think melissa hit the nail on the head

The Fixer 03-26-2007 08:34 AM

I feel that I'm a part of this club, because I can contribute to, and learn from all the Tech Posts. Even though I have a G-body, it's a 3rd-gen F-body under the skin so I feel like I belong here. And, most of the people that I've met at the events have been really cool. I don't let interweb drama bother me; I'm a high-school teacher and deal with drama all friggin' day long!

Untamed 03-26-2007 10:42 AM

I came here without owning an F-body, but had owned three prior. With the wife, kids, mortgage, career, blah, blah, blah, I felt the need to get back into a Firebird, preferably a Trans Am since I had never owned one. After joining www.njfbody.com, then coming to NJFBOA after the other one imploded, I wanted to learn as much as I can, indulge the Trans Am enthusiast in me, and maybe figure out a way to get my hands dirty beyond touching a dirty door handle. I accomplished all of that through NJFBOA.

I remain within the club because I am always learning, I enjoy the casual get-togethers we have to talk about all kinds of subjects, not just f-bodies, and I can see a bright future for the club beyond a large "clique" of friends. The enthusiasm for the cars we all like is still very strong within the club.

Someday I'll have a road-worthy TA so I can show up to the meets in the car that started my interest, and drove me towards finding an organized group of enthusiasts and mechanics who enjoy the same car I do.

Well done. Keep it up.

GrandmasterCow 03-26-2007 11:04 AM

I cam here to learn more about my favorite cars and spread the knowledge that I have about them. I've been an enthusiast for years and when I came over to NJFBOA.org from njfbody.com I really waned to get involved more and more, just so happens that each winter my fbody breaks :( hah but i'll get'er back on the road and out to a meet one of the next few meets haha. i feel like a family when i'm involved with a site like this that everyone shares the same interest, yeah good and bad things to it but its the same no matter where you go

ar0ck 03-26-2007 11:05 AM

Good Times is what brings me back for more. I'm never disapointed with this gang we have going.

personally I think you being an ass made me not come on this board as much as i do other boards (if you cant handle me saying that then you probably shouldnt have posted this.). other than that The NJFBOA people as a whole are pretty awesome to hang out with.. deff a good collection of car enthusiasts. And i define club as
Club - [kluhb] - –noun 1. a heavy stick, usually thicker at one end than at the other, suitable for use as a weapon; a cudgel.

NJSPEEDER 03-26-2007 02:31 PM

i define the club by looking at all the car enthusiasts we have here and all the fun we have together. yes, there is some drama(a group this size will never all be happy at the same time about the same things) and i have been rewarded with many a headache over the last few years for my efforts, but it always seems to result in some good clean fun with a lot of good friends.
i am confident i can speak for justin too when i say that you all make the time, effort, and money we have put into this club worth it. i know i wouldn't give up any of the ups or downs that have brought us this far and will lead us to bigger and better things in the future.

baddest434 03-26-2007 02:46 PM

i enjoy the club.i'll have a better chance to meet alot of people this summer at the track but there does seem to be these little "cliques" that are formed between friends but there mostly from the north so who cares. central ftw

 very good bob but maybe you should just have 2 pieces of bread with some ham and cheese, no bacon remember that diet:lol:

WayFast84 03-26-2007 03:01 PM

I first got into a message board through my space, then i joined tgo and saw big al's post or signature. I came here, wouldnt have stayed if I didnt love my car like i really do, but Its some people who have kept me around, and some people that make me look smart. But all in all, i dont think the rules are hard to follow, this site is alot better then most's, most people are great, and their arent threads like "MODERATORS GETTING A LITTLE LOCK HAPPY?" in the appearence section.

JL8Jeff 03-26-2007 06:31 PM

You can hang out on message boards all over the interweb but if you never get a chance to meet the people in person then you're missing out. Having a local F-body club is perfect. I try to meet up with other people from the larger clubs as well but it's a lot tougher. And since I seem to get a different Camaro every 6 months I need to hang out here.

I'm not gonna lie and I think I speak for many people but the North Jersey crew is very tight nit. I know many think we have a clique but we have been hanging out for long before NJFBOA. We are more then just people from a forum. I've made some really good friends from this car club some that I'll probably know for the rest of my life and many have made a great impact on my life.We just happen to be the same age group/generation and we are well organized. We have all sorts of things going on during the weekends.

Where do you think North Jersey rolls deep came from?
