inspection

the iroc failed inspection. what a surprise. took it through last week and right before it went on the rollers the water pump blew up. went this morning with the new water pump installed made it to the rollers, failed for co2. state wanted .6xx and my car tested 2.4xx. the shop said it might be timing or carb adjustments. i dont have the money for them to spend on it and guess if its timing or not. does anyone know?

info on the car: 350, 600 cfm holley carb, new cat with 10 miles on it, light cam, headers without smog pump, stock exhaust.

any info would be great. thanks

was the car fully warmed up and the cat at operating temp? with lack of smog pump, the car needs to run a while before the cat gets up to ideal operating temp and operates to its fullest ability

yes and no, it was when i got there then the shop was busy so i had to wait 40 min for them to put it on the rollers.

i think my timing is off yet again because it stalled when i got it home and barely started again.

Dude, don't worry. I set the state NOx record with a 427 Vette. A little tuning goes a long way in your case.

get a nice 2.8 fuel injected apple its all good

well the timing is way off, im not even sure the timing mark that came on the engine is the correct one for the block because i just cant get the timing right so it will run good. i even brought the car to a speed shop and i know the owner really well; even he says the timing mark might be wrong. any ideas?

the carb needs work too, has some vaccuum leaks. if anyone is getting rid of a carb let me know, must be 650cfm.
