Unfortunately the time has come...

Yes... I will be trading my car in within the next cpl months. Trying to put cats on the car ontop of popping my valve covers off and seeing a cracked valvespring at only 56K miles, I've had enough with the damn thing. Too many problems, and tired of sinking unnecessary money into it. Im calling up the local meineke to have them swap over new stock exhaust manifolds + ypipe, along with installing SS take-off springs + shocks sometime within the next week. The question is, what am I getting next?? I might look past domestics and might get somethin shnazzy like a G35. Maybe a goat? Maybe a lexus? Maybe a ford? Maybe a nice crusier and get another thirdgen to work with... Maybe a firehawk if i find one... who knows... anything but my camaro. Ill be selling my uninstalled sunoco hood if anybody wants to buy it, its all prepped for paint, along with all the basic bolt ons like transparent MTI lid, pacesetter headers, etc etc. This car is a serious headache, im sure its just mine with the problems, considering im owner #7 (it was a lease car in its hayday). So, toss some ideas. Im not waiting around for the new camaro.

well my girlfriends dad is looking at most of the same cars u mentioned except for the goat i went with him and test drove them all myself as well just to see what they are like.... the lexus is350 was simply a great car... decent power a badass interior and all the gizmos you could imagine then some the price tag is however around 38 grand.... the g35 is a nice car handles very well and has nice balance the interior is pretty nice so all in all a decent choice.... as for the gto the only one i drove was a 2004 so it had the ls1 had an excellent ride (had after market susp parts on it so that may have helped) and thought the interior was good the seats are excellent and much more fun to drive then either of the other 2 as it actually feels fast (the lexus and g35 are decently quick but for some reason they just dont feel fast especially the lexus)

G35 :w00t: dibs on the shotty

DaSkinnyGuy 05-02-2007 12:09 PM

I would get a goat

BigAls87Z28 05-02-2007 01:19 PM

I have seen 04 Goats for 20k, and I have seen 05 and 06 Goats in the mid 20s.

They have a really nice black SS with @5000 miles and a nice rear valiance on there for $29,000 ... where is that place located?

WildBillyT 05-02-2007 01:49 PM

G35 coupe looks nice, handles nice, but is underpowered IMO.

nothin a pair of hairdryers can't fix...

I agree with Tim.. Bryner usually has some great cars..my friend has a G-35 with some mods and its a damn nice car..depending on what your budget is BMW has a twin turbo i believe its a 335. i hear ppl are starting to mod these cars as well. on the domestic side the new Charger is an awesome as well as the mustan(yea i know blah blah blah lol) either one is well worth the money and are easily modded.. just my $.02

j0n 05-02-2007 01:59 PM

IMO look for a used chrysler 300c srt8...there's one on the n2s forums with a cai, no cats, and 100 shot that pulls 03/04 cobras

jenkintown, near philly. i see their ads all the time in the local auto shopper and i have heard good things about the dealership. another option is to call up flemington chevrolet and ask for alison o'neil(AliWantsAnSS) and see what she has around or can get easily.

lastcall190 05-02-2007 09:48 PM

Sucks man, one less f-body in town :( Not like there are millions either hahaha... Go for a Goat, there are still plenty of new ones around if that interests you, my friend has on I'm very impressed with the interior and power.

i have a mustang i can sell you

unstable bob gable 05-02-2007 11:14 PM

Don't buy a friggin' Lexus. The Japanese car industry doesn't need your money!

camarokev 05-02-2007 11:35 PM

chants.....

wait for 2009! wait for 2009! :-D

but, if not, then I'm a vote for the goat (ha... it rhymes) lol. Fastest car I've ever driven (after some major mods, mind you) but still they are badass. Add a tiger tail on the back and ur set :D

Untamed 05-02-2007 11:39 PM

I would also support the GTO choice. Plenty of new and low milage used one's around. Pick your color and year and you'll find one under 25k.

maroman88 05-03-2007 01:02 AM

blue w/ the blue interior GTO FTW!!!!

enRo 05-03-2007 01:28 AM

Even tho the 2004's are LS1s, I would hate having 1 exhaust pipe sticking out. Altho, I found a 2004 GTO, competition yellow, with 15k miles for 20K... 6 speed, black w/yellow lace leather... im gonna check it out on Monday if its still there. Cant seem to find any 05's and 06's with the color choice/tranny that I want around these parts.

But as of now, Im set on a goat or G35. I am really going thru with trading my car in, because I started demodding it earlier today  O well.

Savage_Messiah 05-03-2007 02:17 AM

 RIP Elusive Striped Katfish

Anti_Rice_Guy 05-03-2007 06:56 AM

I kinda figured this after talkin with ya. good luck, but yeah my vote would got to a different 4th or a goat. goats are surprisingly nice cars, and now plentiful and fairly cheap
