Has anybody seen anything like this??

So, im putting stock stuff back on the car, starting with the stock lid + AIR pump... and by accident my hand nudges the spark plug wire second from the back on the driver side (dunno what # it is) ... anyway, it felt a little "lose" ... the spark plug, literally, BLEW right out of the block       And had oil covered alllll over it. Cleaned it up, put it back in, runs like a f***** champ !!!!!! Still trading it in tho ahhahaha

cant say thats ever happened to me.

NJSPEEDER 05-02-2007 05:34 PM

i have heard of it happneing with iron heads on high compression motors or crs that run lots of boost, but never on a stock aluminum headed car. i wonder how many of your problems have been phantom results of that?

Kojak 05-02-2007 05:41 PM

It's because you touch yourself at night! What are you trading it in for if you don't mind me asking?

Never mind, just read other thread, I'm an idot lol...

I've seen plugs that worked themselves out.

yea me and some friends put a 1200cc snowmobile motor in a golf cart and once while trying to start it the spark plug shot out of the head and blew a hole in a wooden fence.

My guess is you have a leaky valve cover gasket and the oil dripped right onto the plug which helped it loosen up through all the heat cycles.

sounds like a ford 5.4....they actually blow the spark plugs right out of the threads

ford ftw

I've found loose spark plugs before. On iron heads and aluminum heads. Forget about selling the car now that it runs right! Go enjoy it for a while and see how much you really like it again. Nothing beats GM rwd V8 cars!
