Yaple Motorsports.......

mixed week this time.
car was ok in the heat race, actually had a nice long dual for 3rd that lasted about 6 laps. we are still working on the set up and the cr was not exactly right yet, finished with 4th and got ready for the feature.

not sure what happened to the car at this point. we did the usual small changes for the feature and expected everything to be ormal. randy went out on track and the car was just garbage. no grip anywhere, couldn't get to the gas until most of the way down the straightaway, and it wouldn't turn in for anything.

randy managed to hang on and bring it home 10th after starting 8th. took a big hit in the points because it is so early in the season and the gaps are small.

the car will be gone over in extreme detail this week to hunt for possible answers. nothing on the car was obviously bent or bound up, so at this point we are just planning to look at everything.

Were you guys running at New Egypt yesterday?

nah, bridgeport is our home for weekly points. maybe hitting some other tracks for the special shows at the end of the year, but just doing points until then.

Yeah, I was at NE last night and didn't remember seeing the 99.

how wasit? i heard the track got dusty but stayed smooth all night.
they have been struggling with their surface down there all season, sounds like they are finally getting a handle on it.

Pretty good. It was dusting a bit during the 30 lap event but during the qualifying runs it wasn't bad at all. Some of the drivers they put on the mic said that it was nice to have a good track to run on for once. There weren't that many spinouts during the main event- they threw the first caution at lap 25.

thats good to hear. you will have to come down to bridgeport some weekend to see how fast those cars get going on a 5/8 mile track :) mods get to the corner entrances at close to 140. hehe

Yeah, I have got to hit that up. It's probably the same distance time wise as it is to NE.

Randy did manage to hang on to 6th in the point standings:

PURSELL 255
COLLINS 254
HILL 237
FORTE JR 235
LINEMAN 232
YAPLE 222
GUNTHER 221
KORMANN 215
HORTON IV 201
MILLER 195

Still only 33 points out of the lead.....
