It's going to come down to your personal preference, not peer pressure.

But, I voted take them off. My personal preference is to have a cleaner look to a car, unless you want a "race ready" look to it with the stripes.

i agree with Untamed that car looks great without the decals
if u end up with a difference in color a good compound job would do the trick

HardcoreZ28 05-25-2007 11:22 AM

It depends on what kind of paint is on the car for starters....urethane with clear is more UV resistant than an enamel paint and won't have faded as much. Also you have to take into account dirt that may be stuck on the edges that over time may have slightly dug into the paint and will give you a possible ghost effect still....but a good buffing may take that out.

I personally like stripes!

Savage_Messiah 05-25-2007 12:18 PM

hm. Without looks clean as hell, but I would never recognize your car when I see it

Me too. But getting them off could be trouble.

no lol but the stripes catch the eye. Of course that is both a good and bad thing.

take them off.

jims69camaro 05-25-2007 04:24 PM

if it ain't broke, don't fix it. it looks fine with the stripes.

agreed. looks good either way.

I had black vinyl stripes just like those on my old white '85 SS for about two years. I used a heatgun to remove them and got all the glue off, but I had some "ghost stripes" on the hood like Paul mentioned. There was a definite difference in the finish, even after compounding. If it were my car, I'd probably leave it alone. Or, if you decide to remove the stripes and find the ghost effect, just put new stripes on in a different color. Gray stripes would look sweet and match the Z06 rims.

I think the stripes look good, and give that Camaro a 'tude! 8-)

shane27 05-27-2007 11:03 AM

i like it with the stripes but i like it better without them

GrandmasterCow 05-27-2007 11:11 AM

i vote take'em off for a much cleaner appearance & buff your white paint and make it shine like in the first pic.

V 05-27-2007 12:18 PM

leave em. im a little biased towards stripes. lol
