Deer 2, j0n 0

Hit another deer...again at 50mph, but this time was on my brand new cbr1000rr.

My leg/ankle hurts like hell, and my neck is sore. Passenger broke her arm, may require surgery. Pics to follow...

Feel better, and best wishes for a quick recovery! I've hit 3 and grazed a 4th, and this is my #1 reason for not getting a bike. I couldn't imagine hitting one a bike.

V 06-21-2007 09:04 AM

oh damn that really sucks man, i hope u both feel better soon.
up north by me, deer arent that big an issue. being almost completely built up in my area has it benifits i guess.

BonzoHansen 06-21-2007 09:10 AM

That blows. Chevelle Jon & I were talking about deer last night. I was dropping him off at his house, when we turned onto his road there was a stupid doe. Hate those things.

I hope your passanger & you recover w/o issue.

LS1LT1 06-21-2007 09:17 AM

OMG! Dude, we were just joking on My Space about the new bike and all too.
Deer and car altercations are bad enough but deer and bike, very BAD combo. :(
Hoping for a fast recovery for you both.

Savage_Messiah 06-21-2007 09:31 AM

Holy crap man....

j0n 06-21-2007 09:48 AM

thanks for all the kind words...im more upset that my passenger is in the condition shes in right now more than anything...her arm is pretty f***** up and we didnt get back from the ER until 4 am and the accident happened at 11:30

as for me i cant lie on my left side and pressing the clutch pedal in the neon sends a sharp pain up my calf but ill be ok

the frame/drivetrain of the bike seems like itll be ok since the frame slider did its job but its still going to need all new plastics, two headlights, a new slider, clutch lever, shifter pedal, the whole front fairing setup(lights, air intake etc) needs to be rebuilt and even the rear fairing got scratched up

V 06-21-2007 09:54 AM

well if you need a hand, ive rebuilt several bikes before and done considerable plastic repairs as well, just let me know

79CamaroDiva 06-21-2007 10:10 AM

:( i didnt realize that it had JUST happened when you called me last night. I'm glad you're ok, and hopefully her arm will be fine too. If you need anything, you know you can call me. Dad sends his best too.

LS1Hawk 06-21-2007 10:12 AM

I'm really sorry to hear about all this, Jon. I've hit a deer before, but can't imagine what it must be like to hit one on a bike. Hope you and your friend get better soon.

NJSPEEDER 06-21-2007 12:25 PM

damn dude, glad to hear you are ok. best wishes to your passenger.
