By model year:
1: 67-69
2: 70-81
3: 82-92
4: 93-02

If you go by build date vs. model year then you are correct.

he was thinking of the significant body style change between 73 and 74, while they were still both 2nd gens, the style changed quite a bit in 74 and again in 78.

You're semi correct, they may have actually started in late 1981 but as 1982 models. :) :tta:

True. :se: And what some people may not know, there was no Z28 in '75 or '76. :x
The Mustang was Pinto based, no Z28s, low compression ratios with bad catalytic converters and air pumps...man those were some seriously DARK times.
It's really good to be a car right now, hope it lasts.
