gauging interest.

ive been tossing around this idea for a while now and wanted to gauge the interest of the people on the forum before i take it to the next level.

i have the opportunity to start a small business revolving around polishing aluminum parts (think throttlebodys, maf ends, fuel rails, etc.)

i also would like to start building radio and hvac delete panels. these panels would be made out of abs plastic and the user would be able to decide if they want to delete radio, abs, or both. they will come blank and the user will be able to add switches, gauges or whatever they want.

all i will say about pricing is that it will be fair at the least, compared to other prices available from users on the other forums, i would consider my planed pricing CHEAP. i will not go into any more depth on pricing until set somthing up with tim and justin out of respect to this forum.

if i am to do this, i obviously have a 99 t/a, so i can make the 97+ panels from my own template. but i would ask that someone with a car from every year that gm changed the dash give me an opportunity to make a cardboard template so that the item can be offered. (anyone that participates in this would be compensated as thanks for their time and participation)

if interest is good, i plan on making these panels available to all generations of f-body, fox body and up mustangs, c4 and up corvettes, select imports, and one off setups will be available to the more oddball cars at a slight upcharge.....

my longwinded speach is done, thanks for reading this far, and let me know what you think.

thanks guys.
mike

so that would be like the tomahawk, but, uh, skinnier... huh?

you're welcome to use my dash to make templates. i should be around at some point this summer, and would make an attempt to be somewhere in particular at a particular time set ahead, of course.

if you need to use a 79 camaro, you can use mine.

79T/A 07-13-2007 07:14 AM

Same goes for a '79 T/A.

Untamed 07-13-2007 09:29 AM

I've got an 88TA. I can just bring the radio pod and radio bezel with me for you to sketch things on.

WildBillyT 07-13-2007 03:02 PM

I would have car parts for you to polish...

If you really want to make something you can sell fast design a replacement hood baffle for the WS6 hood, now that BG doesn't make them you could be the only game in town. Let me know if you need something, I have access to tons of stuff you could use for templates.

Mike 07-13-2007 08:32 PM

you mean the ram air inserts?

Rich189 07-13-2007 08:34 PM

id def take some parts and help you out with whatever i could.... you might also want to look into doing brushed alum. interior trim pieces or carbon fiber accents maybe?

Yup, but the whole box, not just a scoop for the hood. It has to mate up with the airbox to really work
