I still don't know how someone would have the restraint to put less than 1,000 miles per year on a car like that.....

The original owner had to sell it last year and the person who bought it was going to flip it.

He bought it for 21K 7 months ago and wants 35K. I bet his friends will make sure the price is bumped.

This is the 4th time he has tried to sell it in the last 4 months.

You would think, It would have some options like leather seats right? Or is this a 1le formula firehawk

You're paying for "last Firehawk" ever built.

all depends what people want, someone may speculate and hope the car may grow in value. I think the only Firehawks that maybe collectable

91-92 model - only 26 made (orig price 45K)
LT4 SS only 100 made
LT4 Firehawk 39 made
Comp T/A 169 made over 3 years
10th Anniversary Firehawk only 139 made

these would be the only ones I would bought and I have owned 2 of them. Bought my 10th for 22K and it should be sold this week for almost 19K.

NJSPEEDER 07-23-2007 04:17 PM

the problem is that the collector market has made a drastic move towards longer term speculating recently.
what is the current diffeence in value between the handful of sub-20k mile 2002 firehawks that are around and the absolute last one made with 4500 miles on it? not much right now because it is only 5 years old so 4500 miles isn't a very amazing number yet and everyone who is interested in investing knows that the car will change hands 5 more times before it is worth the 35k the guy wants.
if it is a 15+ year old car, 35k is an easy number to get. 5 years old, not so much. maybe the guy will find his sucker, or maybe he will get smart and turn his short term investment around for the 25-27k he shoudl be able to get for it quickly, then move on to the next money making venture.

Damn...mine has 32,000. But I got mine with 29,000 on it, so yeah, I've driven it just the same amount

Bandit 07-23-2007 08:19 PM

I put on about 6K a year on the fun cars. You need to drive them not look at them.

Ewww, I didn't see that in the description.

jims69camaro 07-24-2007 07:03 AM

if he really wanted 35k for it, you'd think he'd have put a little bit of time into the presentation of it. what's with the box of... what is that inside that box? and the nasty plastic on the floor mats in the rear hatch - or is that the t-top insert? people don't understand putting 5 minutes of work into something so that it looks like what your asking to get for it... i certainly wouldn't buy it for more than $15k right now. that's what it's worth to me.

jims69camaro 07-24-2007 07:07 AM

this ties into my thread about car sales thieves: buying a car just to "flip it" instead of what it's supposed to be used for - driving. and of course he's singlehandedly trying to boost the market value by putting it on ebay and having his friends drop by to put in a bid or two... that's dishonest and underhanded, and part of the reason why he gets categorized as a thief.

Shill bidding is dishonest and underhanded (and probably illegal), agreed. But simply buying something to turn around and sell for profit is fine, be it a car, a rubik's cube or a beanie baby. America is built on capitalism.

How many X-Men Firehawks did they make? Couldn't have been too many.
