OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Yea, I'll be there tomarrow! Anybody goin?

stevethepirate 08-24-2007 05:01 PM

nah, but i saw a few nice stingrays on the turnpike on wednesday, im assuming thats where they were heading. also saw a truck full of brand new C6's... dont know if thats related too.

Jersey_TA 08-24-2007 06:40 PM

Son of a.....aaaaahhhhh I didn't know it was this weekend :(

Squirrel 08-24-2007 09:29 PM

na...i got better things to do than walk around seeing 45 miles of le-douches with their corvettes

Icemansghost 08-24-2007 09:37 PM

We are not all trailer queens, and I'm far from a tool. If the Camaro came out with something between 2002 and 2009 I might of bought one. Instead I upgraded!

stevethepirate 08-25-2007 11:14 AM

looks like youre going to have some nice eye candy. i was sitting at a gas station at my school in ohio, and a damn parade of vettes drove by with police escorts. took 10-15 minutes for all of them to pass.

camaroracer1992 08-26-2007 12:09 AM

I dont think carlisle is big enough for those ego's........ **** vettes and their gay *** owners! They only hate fbodies so much since we get the same performance at half the price :)

JL8Jeff 08-26-2007 10:15 AM

I just heard that Carlisle got pounded by storms yesterday and lots of damage was done. What a shame. Here's a link to some pictures.

Holy ****! I hope everyone is ok, what a shame!

BonzoHansen 08-26-2007 11:47 AM

Wow, that sucks. It will be interesting to see how the various insurance companies pay up. Def. something to watch.

I see a lot of those cheap 10x10 ez-up canopies spewed all over the place. Like the one I have. Come on boys, you have to take them down when the weather come in.

i gotta say i was expecting a lot more carnage, glad to see it's not too bad

89CamaroRS 08-26-2007 01:27 PM

that effin blows! i would imagine most massive gatherings like that have some type of insurance to cover such things...? i've gone every year for the last 4 or 5 except this year, picked the right one to miss i guess. that's a terrible shame.

NJSPEEDER 08-26-2007 07:48 PM

i was out there today. not to many show cars, i guess they all left after the storm. i was told that the storm dropped into town mid-parade.
a few nice cars, mostly the typical trailer queen and for sale for only eleventy billion dollars stuff. didn't really see anything too rare though. a few nice stingray big block cars and the normal handful of fuelies, that was about it.

Icemansghost 08-26-2007 08:07 PM

I left there sat around 2:30 in the afternoon, it was sunny with not a cloud in the sky. Wow! I was lucky enough! It was just too damn hot too hang around.

...and what do you drive?

fastback79 08-26-2007 09:56 PM

I didn't go this year. Don't really care for vettes built after 1982.

something thats seen more track time than 98% of the vettes there

Frosty 08-27-2007 06:39 AM

Ahhh ok..so that makes you cool  Nice.

You know there's like 3 vettes on this site? How'd you come up with that 98% figure ;)

EDIT: For the record I'm just busting your balls. Remember, not all vette owners are pompous ********. Just like not all fbody owners are 5th grade dropout, sister screwing inbreds.

lol

Yeah, some vette drivers are cool lol ;) I only like the ones that give me the "wave" though lol

Jersey_TA 08-27-2007 02:21 PM

I was driving back to NJ on sunday afternoon and saw alot of C5s and C6s(not all at once) going the other way. Some waved.

im just being a smart *** too:)...but i was referring to the corvette guys at carlisle, you know you have to agree with me on that one (both the le-douches and track time) lol

Frosty 08-27-2007 04:20 PM

I agree to a point. There's a very rigid line separating the "car guys" that own 'vettes and the "corvette" owners. Does that make any sense? lol

NJSPEEDER 08-27-2007 04:51 PM

all you have to do if you want to see the dividing line is ask them what they drive.
"What do you drive?"
real car guy answer: "'06 Z06 with some bolt ons"
'corvette' guy answer: "1963 Corvette Coupe. It has 500 miles sinc ethe restoration was completed 3 years ago"

i don't mind a nicely restored car, but i will never understand how someone coudl spend $100k+ to restore a car and then not drive it. there is not a car i have ever dreamed of that the dream involved rolling the car off of a trailer and pulling out a lawn chair.

haha if i ever go back i'd have some fun:p

me: what do you drive?
owner: ZR1 with spray
me: awesome

me: what do you drive?
owner: split window with 53 original miles
me: so...what do you drive?
owner: i just told you
me: no, you told me about your 6 figure garage ornament, while youre out there wiping it with a diaper and jerking it the pool boy is ******* your wife

Frosty 08-27-2007 09:40 PM

If it means anything if I keep the vette I'm juicing the balls off of it. :D
