my car is becoming anorexic....hehe

**i know im nothing compared to James but anyway this is still my DD w/ 113xxx mi on it**

Well 3 weeks ago i finally intalled the UMI K member and upper and lower A arms

today i finished up the ABS delete and removed the rear bumper supports.

so in the last 3 weeks ive lost 71lbs

k memeber- 28lbs
ABS- 10lbs
rear bumper- 19lbs
air bag- 14lbs

i should be under 3200 raceweight w/ me in the car

which would bring my
HP/weight to 7.01:1

TQ/wight to 7.84:1

now time to get a bar and harness

you do realize that a bar will put the 71 lbs back in the car plus some depending on what point setup your going...

thats the reasoning for doing more weight reduction....so that it can offset the weight of a bar.

true.... you got a tubular K and a arms? take out the seats and throw some plastic rci's in there.... gut under the dash.... take the door crash bars out (i wouldnt recommend this for non cage cars) front and rear bumper supports.... headlines like 10 pounds... sound insulation and carpet like 40 pounds....thats just to start....... theres a tonnn of places to loose weight...

Demonicbird00 09-01-2007 09:58 AM

my car is down to 3060 w/ out me in it when its track prepped

-brandon

i do have to do the door bars once the 6pt is in and also go to a grant steering wheel

NJSPEEDER 09-01-2007 10:05 AM

are you planning to go tin can on the car or are you keeping the "full interior" look?
hit me up and let me know where you wanna go with it, i have a few tricks up my sleeve :)

jeff wilson 09-01-2007 10:31 AM

i think hes got all the tricks figured out other than the glass..

NJSPEEDER 09-01-2007 01:38 PM

you would be surprised what people overlook :) i didn't take the nickname of weight nazi, it was more of a reward for having a 91 RS t-top car that weighed 3280 at the line with full working power features including a/c and it still had a stock k-member. not bad considering i started with a car jsut a tick under 3700lbs :D

jeff wilson 09-01-2007 02:25 PM

i think my car needs to go on the weight nazi diet. i want 11s at full weight first.

Demonicbird00 09-01-2007 03:29 PM

full interior look is for when im driving around, when im heading to the track and prepping, its a completely gutted car, as youve seen before lol.

In most cases it's even easier and cheaper to get race weights that low in a 3rd gen.

if you didn't have a busted trans and dead tires you'd probably been good for low 11s.

Any who I'm gonna work on trashing some weight TODAY!!!!
