Just ordered HP Tuners.

Welp, I figured in the long run that HP Tuners is a better investment in my MPG goals for the Cavalier then buying every fly by night widget that comes down the pike, so I just placed my order. I'm somewhat intimidated by trying to do my own tuning, but ya gotta start somewhere. And I feel I've gotten a pretty good grip on the workings of the Ecotec to give it a good go.

foff667 09-12-2007 08:07 PM

Its definitely a good investment & can be a very fun little tool :D

Anti_Rice_Guy 09-12-2007 08:13 PM

Let me know how you make out, because I'm thinking of getting one for the Exploder..

BonzoHansen 09-12-2007 08:14 PM

Very cool Bob.

It def seems to be "the real deal." Plus it will be cool to be "in control" of what is going on with my engine.

Thanks. At first I'm gonna see what I can do w/o a wide band, since it is a stock 4cyl and I'm not looking to make rad. changes.

if you wanna put some pep in the step of that little 4 banger, get rid fo the torque management BS first thing. you would be amazed the power to merge onto highways you will find. extra power = less gas peddle needed to get the job done = savin gas :)

As pathetic as it sounds, I can't even do a burn out in the car w/ the dayum torque management set up.

foff667 09-14-2007 07:59 AM

*raises hand* um guys this is a 2.2 or 2.4 cylinder cavalier we're talking about here

If you think you'll be able to do burnouts at will by deleting TM I got news for ya :D

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, I had an 87 Z24 Cav w/ a 2.8 V6 w/ 130 HP. It would schmoke' 'em all day long. The 04 2.2 Cavvy has 140 HP [before bolt ons], and it WANTS to do burnouts, but the big hand of the computer holds it back. I'm happy w/ the perfomance of the car otherwise. Oh yeah, I'm gonna defeat the top speed limiter too, so I can top it out on the highway, er, um, I MEAN racetrack!

oh one ls1 SS 09-15-2007 12:12 AM

let me know how you make out with it. i might be in the market for it soon. BTW... do we get discounts since were members on the forum?

Haven't received it as of yet...according to the timeframe I'm thinking it should be here any day now...

I would def like to check this out once you get it. Always wanted to get into tuning an engine but never had the $$ and cojones at the same time to just belly up and do it.

Me, you, and oh one ls1 SS will have to get together and have a tuning party. And beer will be involved, natch!

No, they don't support the LT1 at all. Here's a list of what they support:
