brakes
my brakes feel like they hit the floor but there is a good 3 inches left, are they stuck on something else? I set my line lock and my car pulls out of it, whats the deal? All the pads are new and i put in a new master cylinder...
|
did you bleed the lines? sounds to me like an air bubble.
|
When you are using the line/loc you put the brake pedal all the way down and then engage the solenoid, right?
How did you bleed the brakes when you changed the master? |
deff. sounds like a bleeding problem. if the car pulls out of the line lock then there is air in the front brake lines because the pads arent clamping down all the way on the rotors
|
COuld it be a hung up caliper?
|
When I changed the master we blew out all the lines and put in all new fluid. Then we bled the brakes at all the wheels. Last week we bled the brakes again but it still feels the same. The pedal is still soft then bottoms out. The car stops fine when your moving. A while ago I had to jam the brakes on real hard and when I was holding the pedal down it faded away. I was told I might have damaged the seal in the master thats why I replaced it. I'll check the calipers. Thanks for the ideas

yea, i just did my breaks and had the same issue...turned out you have to bleed the ABS module. I'm not sure if your cars break system is the same as my '01 SS, but that was my issue with no peddle after i bled them.

Thanks nightryda I'll give that a shot

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder?
It is my understanding that you should always do that when replacing a master..... - Justin |
