Does it have to be out of a fbody? I know someone with a 5.7 combo out of a caprice.

pretty sure the major difference is in the heads, maybe the headers too

I'll keep that in the back of my mind. anyone with a lt1 out of an f-body?

Yeah Caprice's had iron heads compared to the fbody aluminums, debatable on performance but definitely add more weight. Also make sure its an LT1 & not the baby LT1 ie L99 engine. They look identical but are completely different.
