I know Bruce's Speed Shop in rockaway does dyno.. I don't know if they tune and stuff and I don't know the extent they go to with your car. I dono anything- i just know they have a dyno and it's $75 or something for a few runs.. It ain't cheap so I'd hope they tune it. Anyway, 973.664.0192 I'm pretty sure that's their number. They're in Rockaway, right on rt 46 near the bowling alley and carpet king, after a big bridge.. It's a little place, they're great people and Bruce is very knowledgeable. Hope it helps

Actually $75-$100 is about the norm for 3-4 power pulls on a dyno. I would be shocked if that included tuning.

blackbird, i went to bruce ONCE and he's an ***. Sorry. But to fill a nitrous bottle its a simple calculation, weigh the bottle, add nitrous, reweigh bottle determine how much was put in pay $4 per lb. He just charges for a half fill or a full fill no matter how much you get. SO on a 10 lb bottle you either pay $20 or $40 there is no in between that is retarded. He can eat a fat one.

hey i just went to bruce's speed shop to tune/remap my 93 LT1 camaro. Not a good experience. Cost me $600.00 and they didnt even finish the car because my fuel pressure was dropping a bit during a road test in the higher RPM's. They told me to take the car and fix that problem then I guess finish the job. They also left my fuel pressure gauge stainless line resting on my header and forgot to reflash my speedometer input with the new chip. So as of right now, a week and 1/2 later I still have no speedo function. I bumper my fuel pressure so now even though it drops a touch under full load, it is still way adequate for a nice remapping. So aside from repositioning my TPS sensor and doing something to my IAC, I have no idea where my $600.00 went. They also told me my motor has a vibration and I need a new motor because it will blow up. They wouldn't put it on the dyno. Personally, i dont care if my motor had a horrible knock to it, I signed a waiver for the dyno....so DYNO IT! I am going to bring the car back this week, when I have time and we'll see if my $600.00 is going to cover the rest of the tune.

As of right now, I am completely dissatisfied.

TTP

heavy_chevy29 10-05-2007 07:16 PM

ok, so i called IDA automotive and the lady there said that they could do it. she was very nice nice a broke it down as best as she could for me. it went like this:

-$150 for the first hour on the dyno
-$100 for every additional hour on the dyno
-$95 per hour for tuning
-$25 per hour A/F tuning

she said that the price may vary due the type of vehicle(all wheel drive, forced induction, nitrous, things like that). they are about 45min from my house. i think that thier prices are pretty reasonable. im probably going to wait until the begining of next year to do this. i really want to redue my fuel system before it gets tuned.

i tried TTP but no one answered the phone. they dont even have a voicemail saying that it is TTP, so mybe i have the wrong phone number. ill have to try calling them again.

heavy chevy: I didn't see this thread until now so I apologize. I will do the entire tune for $375 on a carb car as long as everything is in proper working order. That includes all of the dyno time which is all done in-house by Rob "Old Skool" & Jay Partyka from my shop. I'm the EFI guy, don't know a damn thing about carbs besides there is one on my car and it's pretty :)

973 365 2270 .. Give us a shout, we don't monitor the boards all the time so phone is the best shot. Talk to Billy.
