Time to quit fartin' around...

Ok, i have decided to finally get off my lazy *** and make some legitimate plans for the car...

This is what I was planning on engine wise:
-The heads and intake would be shipped out to Lloyd Elliot to get ported and polished. I am leaning towards his LE2 package.
link: http://www.eportworks.com/lt1.html

-I am probably gonna have the stock block either rebuilt, or I am going to purchase a new one, probably a bored out one. I saw this one from Summit, but I am not sure if it will work or not: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MLL%2DBP3831&autoview=sku (this is where i need the most input on)

-Of course, the basics will get done too, bigger injectors (30# or 36#, not sure yet), 58mm TB, 1.6 Roller Rockers and a good tune.

The other I have planned:
-Send trans to CPT to get Rebuilt.
-a lightweight K-Member, A-arms.
-Rebuild the 10-bolt with 3.73s, or 12-bolt with 4.10s
-Fresh coat of paint
-New seats
-Finish suspension

But all this isn't set in stone. I am open to, and hoping for, some opinions on what you guys think. Plus recommendations are always welcome. Thanks guys.

I'd go with a ready-to-go shortblock from Victory Racing Engines or Golen Engine Service. Also, you may want to look into the LE3 heads with the LE2 camshaft if your funds allow it. Also, running 4.10s on a 26" tire will be perfectly matched to that setup, but if you squeeze it or add a blower you'll run out of gear.

Why do you want to send everything out? Everyone knows the best builders are right here in the tri state area.... Plus you save shipping..

I agree, you should look at them. Very nice.

There's no good reason to quit fartin! But the car should have nothing to do with that! The 58mm TB might be overkill if you're not making over 450-500 hp though. I think the stock TB modified to 52mm is more than adequate so you could save some money there.

Thanks j0n, i'm gonna look at the Victory block and see what thats like...and the LE3 is a bit out of my range, plus i am not looking to go too crazy with power...

the reason why i am looking at lloyd is cause he is very highly recommended among the LT1 crowd, plus the fact that he gives you a custom grind cam with the heads is great...and CPT is only a 2 1/2 hour drive to Deleware, so i won't ship that...

i bet i would love your recaros, but i kinda saw a set of seats i really like and the company does custom embroidery with you order, so i can get my 30th anniversary logo put in the headrests...

Don't forget to factor the "other parts" into your budget. The LE2 package needs to be spun to 6,500RPMs or more. That means you want to upgrade to ARP bolts at the very least, replace the stock timing chain with an extreem duty or switch to a double roller and electric water pump, You will also need a loose convertor and don't forget tuning. The stage II cam is close to the 306, Appears to be close in lift, slightly less duration and steep ramps like a FXI cams. I suggest a stall around 2800-3800 based on how you want your car to drive. 30# injectors will feed that engine just fine, but look at SVO or Racetrinix/lucas injectors, don't try to save a few pennies and but the excel injectors, lots of people have issues with them.
