I hate writing papers...

I hate it!!! I need to write a paper comparing E. Poe's Purloined Letter to a movie called Double Indemnity. I've been working on this paper for a total of 9 hours so far and have only writen 2 pages. I can't see any comparison between the two. In class I made one comparison and the professor said I was wrong. I hate her. I also need 4 to five referances, yea ok, good luck trying to find one. I also need a thesis.

I guess its a good thing that I'm just going to be learning how to kill people.

Anti_Rice_Guy 10-04-2007 10:59 AM

lol. Join the club about hating writing papers.

Firebird67dude 10-04-2007 11:05 AM

Well when I finaly found something to compare and said it in class and I am told that I am wrong by the prof. I got pissed. Plus this fat *** that sits infront of my called me an idiot so I called him words that I can't post. Then I was like whats the point.

Anti_Rice_Guy 10-04-2007 11:09 AM

Sounds pretty in depth by the way. I would help but I've never heard of either of them. What class is this for?

Its a Social Aspects in Lit. class. ITs a mystery novel class. The prof. is actually a nice lady but I just can't do this paper.

I failed this class once already, so if i fail it again I have to take the class at another school.

no worries college will teach you how to BS pretty well, if not by the end of the first year then definately by the time you are a junior or a senior. I mean how do you expect people to write a 15 page RESEARCH paper the day before? pure (90%+) BS!

at least those were my experiences

Right! But it isn't ‘BS skills’, it's 'communication skills’. The art of the spin.

They key to anything you write for someone else is knowing your audience and tailoring your work to their whims, insane or not. If your boss/prof likes insanely verbose answers, then write, write, write. If they like 1 page summaries, learn to be concise & use bullet points. And always make sure you answer the question actually being asked.

I just finished a 20+ page 'paper' today in work. LOL. It never ends...

ohh i agree, its always about what teacher likes. That's why the first paper during the semester is the hardest for me. It helps if they provide an example but otherwise i just put in 75 effort and see where it comes out to be. Some require more some require less. This current project requires a lot

what did you edit in my post?

bandit88 10-04-2007 01:09 PM

yeah but i find that the same way with quizzes to
you have to test the waters with the first assignment due.... that's usually my worst grade!

Just "BS".

1st would be most difficult, no doubt. I can totally understand your method of operation there, especially if the grade weight isn't too heavy. The only way to maybe mitigate that is lots of questions up front to get an idea of what they want/expect. Some will lay it out for you better then others. Some couldn't articulate their thoughts if their life depended on it. Bosses or profs.

Firebird67dude 10-04-2007 02:04 PM

My one friend had her last semester and said that she is willing to work with people. So I will give that a shot and see if she can give me a week extention even tho it was due last Thurs.

See the main problem is I wasn't planing on going to school this semester. I WAS supposed to leave Aug. 27th. I honestly say that I have lost my drive for school. I want to leave for training. I can see the benefits of that more than school. Plus once I'm dont with BT, they will pay for scholl rather than myself paying for it.

I knew that was coming  I don't mind papers too much; I'm taking a western civilization course online as well as an islam history course online (my non-western requirement) I write 3 mini papers a week in addition to the work for my other 4 regular classes. and it definitely got easier knowing what the professors want. Another point on BS, one of my classes is a politics class and I notice those who dont voice their opinions (only opposing views to the professor's) seem more liked by the professor. It sucks it has to be that way but thats the game lol
