Which Clutch to get
 

My brother has a 1996 LT4 corvette with work, It dynoed at 383hp. He bought it second hand with 16k and he claims the clutch slips, we can only speculate it is the origional stock clutch. I was thinking of trying to find him a new clutch for christmas. Because my family gives car parts for christmas, whatev... Problem is he is looking for one with stock or close to stock drivability, in other words, a stock peddel feel and no chatter. Im thinkin that if the current clutch is stock it probably has a LUK or i think its also called "Valero" clutch in it from the factory. Does anyone reccomend a LUK clutch for a preformance application, if not, what should I look into. I know about Hayes, Centerforce, RAM Textrillia, MacLoed etc. but as many positive experiances people say they have with them, i hear that many negitive. Has anyone any personal experiance with LT1 LT4 clutches?

My stock clutch in my '95 Firehawk went and Fastbird recommended the McLeod. He has the Street Twin, and I went with the Single. I loved it and had it for almost two years and never had a problem. It is definitely a good clutch that will stand up to abuse. It did have a heavier pedal feel, but it wasn't too bad.

Mcleod is good, and Rockland Standard Gear sells a couple different brands.

For that power level centerforce is a good/cheap choice also, but what is the car used for? That makes a big difference in what kind of clutch you buy. You have alot of leway in a DD but if it is going to be raced you need to go with the best stuff you can.

Theres also a nice line of SPEC clutches.
