I never heard about it until I moved to NJ, and all the knuckleheads in high skool called it Mischief Night.

Goosey night over here. My mom said they used to call it Gate night when she was growing up in Ramsey.

DaSkinnyGuy 10-30-2007 08:45 PM

Never heard it any other way but mischife night

Teds89IROC 10-30-2007 08:45 PM

its Jeanne-Marie 10-30-2007 09:19 PM

mischief!! goosey sounds like a gay 3 year old made it up, and then giggled about it

ShitOnWheels 10-30-2007 09:24 PM

Mischief night.

I just ran to the supermarket (James just had oral surgery, wanted ice cream and mashed potatoes), and some kids were trying to buy eggs. They won't sell eggs to minors on the night before Halloween. Never heard of anyone denying kids eggs, but makes perfect sense.

Mischief night but I've heard it called the Devil's night which is retarded considering Halloween has nothing to do with the Devil or Satanism.

We called it Cabbage Night back in my bergenfield days. Dunno what they're calling it here in Ramsey these days.

Savage_Messiah 10-31-2007 01:02 PM

Are us up in northeast bergen county the only ones who call it cabbage night? Till I was in college i had never heard anything else

mtnhopper1 10-31-2007 01:29 PM

Devil's night, here. This is definitely regional.
