why kill the baby?

ive read about Harlequin's disease (which is what the baby had) its not pleasant and one of the rarest genetic diseases in existence.

Yes, it's legit, but very rare. Most babies born with it die within a few days, but there are a few documented cases of teenagers and adults who are surviving with it.
