v6 problems come out

issue 1-leak. so i know i have an exhaust leak, and its from the manifold(s)..should i put stock manifolds back on or should i just get some headers? and does anyone have any stock manifolds

issue 2-misfire. dont know if its just one cylinder or a random misfire. when you open the hood you can smell gas, so i think it may be the injectors. so should i just put in new injectors, plugs, wires, coil pack and such? the car is due for a tune up anyway, and since i dont know too much about 4th gens, how hard is it to do all of this stuff. these are pretty much the only mechanical problems with it.

btw this is a 3.4L high mileage A4 all stock i think

you should do a full tune up on the car and put on some new manifolds before you start chasing individual problems

BonzoHansen 11-02-2007 08:17 AM

A bad exhaust manifold leak can cause weird misfire issues. My $0.02 stay stock.

DaSkinnyGuy 11-04-2007 12:23 AM

Actually I would go with headers but get a good brand and put a coating on them before you install them.

camaro2you 11-04-2007 08:56 AM

If its just going to be a driver just get some manifolds.

transamkid 11-04-2007 09:32 PM

yea i think im doing the manifolds, its just easier, im gonna do them first and see if the misfire goes away, it wasnt too bad tonight

buy a set of headers and a y pipe and throw away the stock exhaust manifolds

bubba428 11-06-2007 04:28 PM

get the pace setters for it. its about 230 for the headers and Y. the injectors are fine. the reason you smell gas is the combination of a misfire and a bad manifold gasket. besides you can ask blacdout96 about when i did mine. It is the most god awfull desing ever. So unless you have 2-3 hours free, leave em be. as far as the tune up, absolutly

transamkid 11-07-2007 11:18 PM

i just saw the pacesetters today and i am considering them. i saw em in jegs for 230, but idk if they came with the y-pipe. and i did plugs and wires and the misfire went away. its like a other car now. and the manifold is cracked i found out

bubba428 11-07-2007 11:24 PM

the pace setters DO come with the Y...I have a set...and If you still don't believe me I have pictures

transamkid 11-07-2007 11:28 PM

oh no i believe you, it just didnt say it in jegs, lol
where did you order them from?

bubba428 11-07-2007 11:29 PM

Summit Racing

I'll even be nice and save you 5 min

here

transamkid 11-07-2007 11:33 PM

as soon as some $$$ frees up i think im getting them

bubba428 11-07-2007 11:39 PM

from what I've heard they're an awesome buy. You'll need to either expand your cat pipe cause they have 2.25in exhaust or get a 2.5 in cat and 2.5 in cat back to get the most out of them. I already scrapped my manifolds or I'd give them to you. Is the car auto?
