502 in a 2nd gen camaro
 
Anybody out there familiar with how much of a job to install a GM crate 502 in a 78-81 camaro.Any books on same.I understand will need electic fuel pump but what about motor mounts,AC and all pulley mounts,will original trans fit,driveshaft etc.Theres probably more I'm not aware of.Look forward to some feedback.Thanks Paul

look up BTK79. he has a 502 crate in his car and it really hauls the mail.

Hey Paul , pm me with some more info on your BB swap and I'll answer your questions. The swap is not too bad. It all depends on your skill level ,budget,and goals for the car.

It's pretty easy. The engine compartment was designed to fit it since the early 2nd gens came with one from the factory as an option. That also means that the parts you need are available as well. One thing to remember, you'll need to swap out your front springs for big block springs. The motor mounts, headers, and everything else you need are easy to find.
