A beater is coming my way..
 

But I need some help deciding if i should take it.

Its a 1993 chevy lumina apv
it has 130,000 miles..

It has started to break down recently. First it was the alternator, then it was something else(i don't remember what it was). It has a squeak thats noticeable over bumps and when the car is first driven after being started up. It also needs new brakes.

The car is free, but I'm not thinking of it as free because if I got it, i would at least do the brakes/have them done.

I want to take it, but I don't want to at the same time. I have 8 months till Ill need a beater.

So please help me decide to take it or not.

Why 8 Months??

snatch that up asap. it will give you time to get it all sorted out so that you don't have to worry about it once you do start driving.

matt has 8 months until he gets his license. damn kids! lol

I wish my first car was free......i paid $2000 for a buick la saber. But take it and learn from it...All you can do that car (Nothing crazy of course) but do it. I learned 3800 Series engins on my Buick and it came in handy with my Firebird.

I guess My sister isnt allowed to park in the drive way either.

tell whoever has it that you will take it anyway, grab a friend with a licnse to go pick it up, drive straight to the scrap yard. most yards will give you $100-200 for a complete car :)
