My Winter Apperance Plan
Just thought I would share it with everyone before I dive into it in the upcoming weeks while its freezing outside!
The Plan: To create a race bread appearance inside my 1995 Z28 Camaro to match the exterior. Many modern Import & Exotic sport cars are using extensive and well placed pieces of carbon fiber to build a contrasting interior which is very appealing to me. I think that stock F-body interiors leave a lot to be desired but can be easily fixed when certain items that are well placed and tasteful. I know these cars were originally designed to be obtainable to the average Joe, but I am a huge fan of true coupe interiors similar to the Corvette. I have no desire to transport passengers and this is my weekend fun toy so it should be used & designed as such. Right now my interior is still pretty stock appearing with the only interior modifications being a head-unit, white shift knob, 2x racing seats, no rear seats, & a 4-point auto-works roll bar. I had to cut the stock sail panels but they will be replaced with more accurately cut pieces. My interior is in excellent shape other wise. I think thats a good start. My plans include using well placed carbon fiber dash trim, bare aluminum racing petals, new seat-belt/harness, LED interior lighting, padding the roll bar in key spots with black foam, and a rear seat delete. how about a new steering wheel? i'm looking to do one on mine as well. like the one bad02ss posted up

Just my opinion, but I would skip the carbon fiber stick on stuff. Seems kinda ricer-ish unless you are installing actual carbon fiber parts.

I think your in the right direction, but i would skip the carbon fiber stick ons and maybe try something else other than carbon fiber to make yours more original? Just an idea. And yea also a new steering wheel, stock looks kinda bulky and outta place

Eh i don't like those boxes, and I hear they fit like crap. I want it to slow down to my front seats I don't care if its not level or even with the trans tunnel. I'm going to make one out of cardboard first.

that carbon fiber "dash trim" is GARBAGE!!!! I have it, and it ISN'T molded, it is "over lay". It DOESN'T look like the picture. I ordered it from RKSport and I'm taking it off next yr and probably painting my dash parts black to give them a shine. The overlay crap looks so cheesy. Your best bet is to find a company that sells the real molded pieces, i have seen them and they're nice, but expensive.

someone at the last central meet had a place that made really nice carbon fiber etc. as well i wanna say direct dash replacement or something

I have to agree that I have yet to see a single carbon fiber interior done that looks good (especially in an american muscle car). I say just go with the small accents like I did in mine; (silver dash plate, silver door inserts, race pedals, gauge pod, custom shift knob ect.)
