I have seen this before. This might be a repost

Whats happens to side impact? I guess the other car will simply drive right through the car.

NJSPEEDER 12-13-2007 05:14 PM

it looks like it gets really close to the ground when it is folding down. i wonder what would happen if the car had men of average weight in it instead of the 110lbs models they used. lol
i also would like to know what happens to this system in an accident or if the battery is dead.

the battery is a good point...but even more practical. what if its raining? the window goes down b4 the door opens, that would make the car get so much wetter.

Exactly.. What happens when its really cold and the window freezes.. WTF do you do then.

There was a vid of it posted before, but it wasn't as long or as detailed. Its probably not practical enough for a daily driver. But if I had a showcar or wanted to use something eye catching on a weekend cruiser I'd get one installed as soon as I had the money.

yeah those doors look paper thin. but it sure does make entry and exit a whole lot easier.

pop quiz! anyone heard of the BMW with the doors that slid down?

It probably has a manual latch release somewhere like with the shaved door handle kits.

It looks pretty cool on that car, but I'd have to see it on other cars. It's gotta cost a good deal of money too. Hmm... go fast parts, .... or sliding doors. Tough decision

Slo86Bird 12-18-2007 10:25 PM

i had posted a short video of the door going down and up but that was it.
