trick flow elbow replacement

Ok , I go tmy hands on a 1le elbvow replacement from trick flow. wen tto install it.. nto only did i have to manually drill, the vacuum line hole but i decimated the rubber grommet/gasket while installing it. also apparently it doesn tfit my car with my slp cai ? its a 96 lt1 w/ stock TB /MaF . when attached to maf and cai ... it kinda overshoots my tb by about 1/2"... ill go out and mess with it some more tommorrow afternoon and get some pics if i cant get it to install. i may be able to get it to fit if i take the cai off the frame mouunt to the right of the radiator . Im hesitant to leave it just hanging though... Any tips/suggestions on this b4 i get out the belt sander and shave my MaF down?

cut a half inch off of the elbow, thats what most of the LT1 guys do because the 1le elbow apparently was made for 93s which had speed density (no MAF)

Then you'll have to break out a cutting wheel to get that 1/2" somewhere.

That line is actually just to give the Opti clean/filtered air. The other hose that goes to the intake is the vacuum side. You could put that line anywhere in the tube, doesn't need to be in that location. Since I run boost I didn't want to force air into the opti so I just went to the local speed shop and got a small filter to put on the hose.

BTW, there are 2 different 1LE elbows, one for the 93-94 the other for 95-97. And for some odd reason the 93-94 cost $20 more???
