A few quick pics I took in London
Because driving in London costs a bazillion $$, you only seem to see cabs and expensive cars. I saw a number of ferarris. And many of these:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4125s.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4112s.jpg Insane. I thought of you guys while I was in London... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4128s.jpg And the words on the Marquee I never thought I'd see.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4074s.jpg |
The arena is called the O2, (O2 is a cell phone company). It was called the Millineum Dome. The place is bascially an arena with a mall aro8und it, all covered by a big tent. The mall is all restaurants. The big yellow towers are supports for the tent/roof. A pretty neat place.
A public skating rink outside the arena. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4078s.jpg The main support near the box office http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4077s.jpg A look down the mall. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4076s.jpg Outside the arena is open year round, even if there are no events. They had the King Tut exhibit going too. Really neat place. |
Looks like a cool place. Any idea what the attendance was for the show?

Yeah, it is a real neat place. So many interesting old buildings. And that survived WWII bombing. |
Big Ben
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4096s.jpg I think this is the house of parliment. I could be wrong. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4095s.jpg Typical central london scene http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4127s.jpg |
I took a side trip to the RAF Museum. Very cool, and very large. A few large buildings full of all sorts of planes and helicopters. Similar to the new Air & Space Museum Annex in Virginia.
British Spitfire http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4181s.jpg I believe an American P51 Mustang http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4206s.jpg One of the only remaining German Jet fighters http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4209s.jpg |
12 cyl Mercedes Engine
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4151s.jpg The remnants of a British bomber taken from the bottom of a large lake in Scandivia. A Liberator IIRC. I think it is a I saw a special on this plane on History Channel a few months ago. They had a number of planes in 'as found' condition. Many impressive displays, but this one was the best. And humbling, knowing men died in that plane. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../IMG_4198s.jpg http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/raf-museum-collection.cfm |
Nice how you were thinking of us. Thats how I am now in Daytona beach I plan on taking pics of every nice car I see. its a blazin 63 degrees I am sweating.
|
Let's put the 12cyl in your 67'.

Very cool. London is a very fun city. That German plane is an Me-262, the first ever jet plane. It could outfly everything else at the time, and if Hitler would have listened to his advisors and used it as a fighter/attack plane, people say the outcome in Europe might have been different, but he decided not to use it to its potential and only used a handful of them.
The O2 place is pretty fun. They built that for new years 2000. |
meghan says post more pics, and yes thats parlament building
|
doesn't arsenal play at the o2 arena?
