STOP MAKING ME FEEL OLD!

I still have my 35mm from when I went to R.I.T. back in the 70s for pro photo. WAYYYY back then auto settings were just on the market. I used a hand held light meter ( and No Bonzo - didn't need a slight rule ) to figure out appature and shutter speeds. Spend many an hours in the dark room developing film and picures. What a PITA color photos were then!

Does it have plexi-glass looking antennas sticking out of the front of it? Now that would be old. So old I could not find a pic on google anywhere. that is smithsonian old.

firehawk1120 12-31-2007 11:31 AM

after thinking about your title I thought for sure that you were going to have a picture of James in the post. LOL

i have news for you.. to make a color print look good from film, its STILL a PITA. the 1 hr photo lab prints always come back with some form of color cast.. i cant even begin to count the hours i've spent in a dark room in the past 6 years..

I love working with film, my favorite part is loading it in the canister before developing it.

That school has an AWESOME photo program. I had a friend that went there a while back.

shane27 01-03-2008 10:56 AM

where the hell did you dig up that dinosaur bone????

79CamaroDiva 01-03-2008 01:56 PM

its funny how people look at a film camera and think its inferior quality because its old. that's just not the case.. digital cameras have come a long way in the past few years, but they still cant TOUCH the quality that film offers. They're just so popular because of the ease of use, and low cost to maintain (don't have to pay every time you want to see your pictures, etc)

Every now and then I get to use my dad's Mamiya medium format camera. I haven't seen a digital come close to it, although the Canon 5D is pretty close.

LS1Hawk 01-03-2008 09:53 PM

That camera might be worth something some day. Konica Minolta got completely out of the camera business last year. I think they sold their technology off to Sony.
