Any Locals Using Data Logging Software in North Jersey Area?

Hey guys whats happening,

I was wondering if anyone up in these parts was into using software like TunerPro with there laptops. I am interested in picking up the cables and hardware but since the software really lacks much documentation I don't know if I will be able to make heads or tails of it.

Recently my 5.7 z28 failed inspection by a small margin for CO emissions. 0.65 to pass and I had 0.80. So I wanted to hook my laptop to see if I can figure out what is causing the condition.

isn't most of the obd1 stuff freeware? All you'd need is a few bucks worth of parts to get up and running yourself as long as you have a very minimal laptop.

go to moates.net and get ahold of them and they will set you up with the cable 80 bucks and the free software ... well free for the first 20 logs ... hope that helps

I think he's just looking for help because he's confused by the software.

Hey guys, ya I am more talking about actually being able to setup the software since the are no real tutorial guides dealing with that specifically. I downloaded tunerpro and went through the help section and it gave me a bit more perspective but still the instructions really are not the detailed.

So I am trying to get perspective from people who actually have used say tunerpro and how easy it was to setup and understand.

I datalog, emulate, read/burn with tunerpro rt.

But, I'm in the south...there isn't really a how-to on it...takes a while to learn.

I saw you working on your car the other day on my way to school. Your black car looks amazing!

Thanks ar0ck, that car is causing me a few headaches right now and its not helping that its cold outside. Hopefully I can get this datalogging down to a "T" and move on to some other items I need to address with the z.

I have the stuff but haven't been able to get into it yet. I'm probably in the same boat as you lol. If you haven't already, check out thirdgen.org, they have so much info on this subject.

Hey Teds89IROC ahhh I see. I have been on the the thirdgen site and read in the forums but not much out there in terms of starter guides etc. Once I get it down I am going to do a write up for beginners.

I found this video on youtube, guy has tunerpro hooked up and showing stats and everything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhs5m88WvS4
