Anti_Rice_Guy 01-25-2008 01:53 PM

Did he sell it to ya for 300 because he bought it from you? Because it looks pretty clean, and the other type of clean too, after you washed it.

Tru2Chevy 01-25-2008 02:00 PM

Nice Ron.....now let the fun begin

Jeez it looks like the previous owner buried it or something! Good to hear your still in the F-body game. Good luck with it. Make sure you ditch that turbo hood ASAP!

I sold it to him for 400, about a year and a half ago, after i did lots of weight reduction

The body is still pretty str8. the only minor annoyances are the classic heavy doors on it. i need to try and adjust them or something. im gonna sand it down and paint it white like it was before. theres not much rust on it either.
need to get me some SFC's for it first haha

but that hood is 44lbs lighter than the stock hood lol. It will also provide ample clearance for my carb. another thing i was thinkng of was popping those louvers out, and filling the little screw/bolt holes in and then paint :)

bubba428 01-25-2008 02:23 PM

If it's a race only car you can gut the doors and take the crash supports out. I think Third gens have them, I know that's what makes 2nd gen doors so heavy.

I still wouldn't unless there is a cage. If something goes wrong, it will fold up.

Actually, I misread his post, for some reason I thought he was going to put one in. Yeah, you are right. I would hold off unless it's at least got a 6 pt bar in it.

She's a beauty Ron! Good luck with it. It's amazing what a simple wash would do. I'll have to come check it out some day.

camaro2you 01-27-2008 06:34 PM

Looks good, cheap as hell to.

Teds89IROC 01-28-2008 10:32 AM

Nice Ron! I like the looks of those hoods. Even more at 44 pounds lighter than stock, I bet my SS is a similar. I was able to pick it up and move it around like nothing...the stocker..not so much lol

r0nin89 01-28-2008 10:57 PM

Makes me wonder where my 88 is right now...
